Rompin MP Dato’ Sri Hasan Arifin asked the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations to state the amount of hydrogen energy exported abroad for the year 2020 until June 2021. The measures taken by the Ministry such as in a form of incentives or support to strengthen, expand and commercialise this industry in Malaysia.

Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, stated that the amount of hydrogen energy exported is relatively low, but the PETRONAS Canada hydrogen export initiative to Japan has spearheaded Malaysia’s resource exports.
The ministry is currently working on a National Energy Policy to guide in addressing all issues across all energy-using sectors and ensuring the sector’s development aligns with global energy trends.
Moreover, NanoMalaysia Bhd has also been named a strategic partner to put up the plan. Preparations are being carried out in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, NanoVerify Sdn Bhd and Malaysian Green Technology Corporation. The plan will be the guide to develop the hydrogen economy and technology up to 2050.
