JobStreet Malaysia, the leading jobs platform by SEEK, today launched seekMAX, the country’s largest in-app learning content platform designed to empower professionals to upskill and advance their careers. Malaysians can now easily access over 1,100 free edutainment video content in English and Bahasa Malaysia via the JobStreet mobile app.
According to recent research by Jobstreet, 70 per cent of the working Malaysians spend at least one hour a week on learning and development, indicating a strong desire to upskill professionally. seekMAX addresses this demand by collaborating with leading companies, local influencers and international media – including Bloomberg, Microsoft, The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Complexly, Tech in Asia, SDG Academy, Open Academy and Deutsche Welle. They offer various high quality, engaging and bite-sized videos including career-related advice, industry-specific content, soft skills and leadership tips. Talent can ensure they are on top of their salary negotiations by following the guidance offered in seekMAX’s original ‘Salary Squad’ featuring local influencers, get HR insights with Aunty HR (aka Professional Bimbo) and keep themselves informed on the latest industry trends through snappy updates by Bloomberg.
Vic Sithasanan, Managing Director, JobStreet Malaysia said, “In a recent JobStreet survey, 62 per cent of our users said that they’re motivated to keep learning to improve themselves or their current career, while 34.4% of Malaysians spend 5-7 hours a week on learning and development. It can be difficult to find the budget to learn new skills in today’s fast-paced world, which is why we’re excited to launch seekMAX in Malaysia and offer Malaysians a platform where they can grow their skills, knowledge and careers for free. Our bite-sized content is ideal for the busy job-seeker and furnishes them with the right tools to advance their careers. We also look forward to expanding our range of content in the coming months, as a dedicated career partner helping job seekers succeed.”
seekMAX first launched in Indonesia in 2022, with Malaysia being the next country in Asia to roll out the platform. Since its Indonesia launch, over 2.5 million users have watched over 6.5 million minutes of videos on the platform. The most popular content categories being watched are job search advice, career advice, salary advice and self development. Salary Squad, a seekMAX Original series answering burning compensation and benefits questions by job seekers, is one of the most-watched series in Indonesia to date. Its Malaysian edition will feature local TV and radio host Zher Peen alongside entrepreneur Nash Idrus and a panel of HR and industry experts.
Peter Bithos, Chief Executive Officer of Asia, SEEK said, “When SEEK and our JobStreet brand were founded 25 years ago, our goal was to connect talent with jobs and employers with talent in the most efficient way possible. We have gone beyond that promise by becoming more than a jobs board. As the leading career and talent partner for the region’s workforce and employers, we’ve evolved to be there at every stage of people’s professional lives – not just when they are looking for a new job, but also when they want to take their career to the next level. With seekMAX, we can deliver our purpose of helping people live more fulfilling and productive working lives more effectively, as we transform to be the number one digital career platform across Asia.”
In addition to edutainment content, seekMAX also offers seekMAX Community, where users can connect and network with industry experts and like-minded individuals, engage in open discussions with fellow professionals, and stay updated on the latest industry trends.
