Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker in response said this pandemic really gave a huge impact on the sports ecosystem and the superintendent of sports in Malaysia. Among the impacts are affected businesses, declining earnings, as well as irritating repayment pressures.
Based on checks by the ministry, it was found that between 1 January until 31 December 2020, as many as 1968 sports-related business companies were forced to shut down operations due to a lack of working capital and operational funds.
To assist affected sports industry players, KBS has introduced a Sports Concern Initiative focusing on the final efforts as well it was an initiative that would bring relief to sports industry operators and entrepreneurs nationwide who have been badly affected by the Movement Control Order due to the pandemic.
