Bangkok hosts electrifying night of combat for ‘Amazing Muay Thai: Road to Rajadamnern’ finale

    In a grand celebration of Thailand’s cultural heritage, the historic Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok came alive on 20 December as the ‘Amazing Muay Thai: Road to Rajadamnern 2024′ series concluded with a night of spectacular combat.

    Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in partnership with Global Sport Ventures, the event celebrated Muay Thai as a cornerstone of Thai identity and a global cultural phenomenon.

    The international series, which began with events in Spain, Australia, and the Czech Republic, culminated in Bangkok with four electrifying matches, pitting top Thai fighters against international champions.

    Thrilling Matches and Victorious Champions

    The finale opened with an intense men’s lightweight (135 lbs) bout where Yodtanong Phetwanglang of Thailand secured victory over Czech contender Tomik Nguyen. In the women’s featherweight (126 lbs) category, Bryony Soden of Australia bested Petchmai Sor. Pracha in a hard-fought battle.

    The action escalated as Wukong Sitjaroenwit (Thailand) showcased his skills in the men’s super featherweight (130 lbs) division, defeating Ibrahim Abou Saleh. The night reached its climax in the men’s 119 lbs division when Spain’s Kevin Martinez triumphed over Thailand’s Yonis Anane, rounding off an unforgettable evening.

    Global Appeal and Cultural Showcase

    This year’s Road to Rajadamnern series highlighted the universal allure of Muay Thai, attracting over 5,200 attendees across its stages. Events in Cádiz, Spain (27 July), Melbourne, Australia (31 August), and Prague, Czech Republic (30 November) collectively drew crowds of international enthusiasts.

    The series also gained significant digital traction, amassing over 6 million online impressions and reaching an audience of 30 million through offline media.
