Building on the commitment to reinforce the global frontline fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Yili Group, the No.1 dairy company in Asia, worked with PT Green Asia Food Indonesia to send personal protective equipment (PPE) to Indonesia as part of the relief effort to support local communities. Yili established its Indonesian headquarters in Jakarta in 2015, and later launched Joyday series of ice cream products in 2018 which providing over 20 varieties, covering 40 cities in 22 provinces to date. Yili has been supporting local communities enthusiastically. Yili has participated in multiple philanthropic activities for local charity organizations, NGOs and the communities most in need. With the construction of Yili’s factory in Indonesia well underway and expected to enter operation later this year, it is set to boost local employment and bring a substantial benefit to the local economy.
In response to the pandemic, Yili remains focused on the safety of employees and has implemented the highest disease prevention measures to protect their health. PT Green Asia Food Indonesia swiftly formulated prevention & control plans to strengthen and upgrade daily protection measures: guarantee the storage of medical and hygienic supplies are sufficient; encourage frequent handwashing; and conduct daily temperature checks of all employees.
In face of personal protective equipment shortage, PT Green Asia Food Indonesia coordinated its resources to procure and deliver critical anti-epidemic supplies including masks and hand sanitizers to its retailers across the country, helping them minimize the impact caused by the Covid-19.
Yili devoted itself to the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak in China to mobilized global resources – sending funds, milk, and prevention and control materials to the front line of the battle against the epidemic. With the gradual improvement of China’s epidemic situation, Pan Gang, the President of Yili Group pays closely attention to the countries outside of China, and organizes donations and funds support in multiple countries and regions. Yili has become the first food company to join the “COVID-19 Fund” of the Chinese Red Cross.
