economic decline. After one of the most controversial elections in recent history, the American democracy has been challenged in several aspects. However, scholars predict that threats we have seen recently are only just the beginning.

2020 U.S. Election: Challenges to American Democracy in the post-Trump Era, featuring
speaker Dr. Stephen J. Farnsworth, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs &
Director, Center for Leadership and Media Studies, University of Mary Washington to present on the differences between American and Westminster democracy, scrutinise the role the media played in the 2020 U.S election cycle and explain the challenges American democracy is about to face.
