The Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC) yesterday hosted a field trip to the Lynas
Malaysia advanced materials plant in Kuantan.
Over 35 MABC members toured the facilities, met with members of the Lynas Malaysia team, and saw how Rare Earth materials are produced. Rare Earths are essential to many high tech and green tech products.
Lynas has been a member of the Malaysia Australia Business Council for over a decade and
MABC members welcomed the opportunity to visit the plant and learn more about Rare Earths processing and uses.
Commenting on the visit, MABC Chairman, Dinesh Nambiar said:
“From our visit today, it’s clear to see that management and staff have made safety for people and the surrounding environment a clear priority.
“The complexity of operations and skills of the Lynas Malaysia team are evident when you tour the plant. Having so many talented Malaysians at the cutting edge of this industry bodes well for the future of high tech manufacturing in Malaysia, and the country’s Industry 4.0 aspirations.
“Lynas Malaysia is one of the most advanced factories in the country and the Malaysia
Australia Business Council field trip provided an opportunity for our members to see the
operations first hand, hear the scientific facts and the many innovations and speak with the
experts.”
