Following an intense weekend at battlefield, GRITG ARES have emerged as champions of the PUBG MOBILE National Championship (PMNC) 2021 powered by Yoodo – Malaysia’s first truly customisable and 100% digital mobile service! Yoodo is also the Official Digital Telco of the tournament, a title the telco has retained since 2018.
“Words can’t describe the joy this news brings for Yoodo, we would like to congratulate the entire GRITG ARES team and DR SC PPG team on their well-deserved victory!” Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo commented. “This has been a truly gripping tournament, and we have seen many talented players take us to the finish line through mind-blowing moves and battle strategies. Yoodo is a strong advocate for local esports talents, and it has been a tremendous experience watching these teams go all out on the battleground.”
PMNC 2021 was well-received, drawing a virtual crowd of 3.1 million views throughout the tournament. The championship was executed over a 3-day long course towards the grand finals, which was live-streamed on the Yoodo Esports Channel – Yoodo’s dedicated platform for all things related to esports and gaming.
“Yoodo has been a part of PMNC for four (4) consecutive years, and we are proud to support a championship that has empowered many incredible gaming talents,” Tuck Mun continued. “PMNC 2021 received a whopping 31,818 individual registrations – this achievement proves to be a strong indication standpoint from many passionate esports talents in our local community and PMNC continues to be a platform for Malaysian talents to grow.”
Alongside winning an attractive share of the RM 100,000 prize pool, GRITG ARES also managed to earn themselves a spot in the upcoming PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) MYSG Season 4. The team will also be joined by Yoodo Gank, YSX Esport (X) and Team Bosskur as the top four teams from PMNC 2021 will be given a chance to win the regional championship. GRITG ARES maintained a consistent performance throughout the tournament and defeated 16 teams overall, racking up a graceful 192 points and 2 Chicken Dinners through to the Grand Finals.
This year’s PMNC also opened doors for the first-ever Ladies Battle PMNC tournament in Malaysia. The battle saw sixteen (16) all-women PUBG MOBILE teams clash in combat throughout the championship, leading to a smooth victory for DR SC PPG and a share of the RM 10,000 prize pool.
