How to Trust a Skinny Chef?
As the old saying goes ‘Never trust a skinny chef’ the Busiess Lifestyle Review explored under what circumstances could you possibly trust a skinny chef and learnt that a personal chef for the day or longer is now a real option for those looking to take corporate entertainment and private dinning to the next level.
Aida Hani Khalid is a big challenger to the old saying ‘Never trust a skinny chef’. Raised on the East coast of Malaysia, like many other parts of the country a haven for food and melting pot of flavours. This is were her nevereding love for culture & food was egnited, ‘My childhood was literallty in the kitchen helping my mom and my dad prepare delicious comfort food for families & international guest. My dad has been in the hotel industry throughout my schooling days and he often brought back guest from overseas to try our amazing homecooked malaysian food, I think that’s when I started to dream to travel the world”.
In recent times, Aida has spent quite amount of time travelling the globe to explore other cultures and their food. Just last year, she had the priviledge to travel as a private chef for Audi R8 LMS CUP Racing team. ‘It was offer that I couldn’t refuse, It was a dream come true and an opportunity of a lifetime’. Not knowing how crazy and tough the experience was going to be for her, ‘It was the most challenging yet the best time of my life’ she was up for the challenge and hasn’t look back since.
Following her stint with the Audi Racing Team she was offered a highly paid post as a chef with a French cafe chain in Singapore an offer which she had to turn down but at trip that reunited her with an old college mate from Chef Training School, UiTM Shah Alam where they both did their culinary training. One thing lead to another and they quickly decided that she should be partners in this culinary adventure. ‘I was so lucky, I think God purposely sent her to me. I couldn’t do it with anyone else, we were matchmade in heaven, in the kitchen’.
Conquering the world one dish at a time, their first adventure started in Zhuhai China, then Korea, Taiwan, Sepang, Japan and last curcuit was in Shanghai, dealing with communication breakdowns, power cuts and many mishaps along the way. Aida has decided to share her culinary adventures in her yet to be tittled book which will be published early next year. Not one to be stereotyped and always thinking outside of the box, That’s how the name came about.
