Thailand is gearing up to welcome the New Year in unparalleled style with the “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2025”, a grand celebration set to take place at iconic locations nationwide. The flagship event will be held at Nagaraphirom Park along Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River, featuring the majestic Wat Arun as its backdrop. Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the celebration promises a perfect blend of tradition, innovation, and world-class entertainment.

Bangkok’s Main Event: A Feast for the Senses
From 28 December 2024 to 1 January 2025, Nagaraphirom Park will transform into a vibrant hub of cultural performances on a floating stage, live music by renowned Thai artists such as Lula, URBOYTJ, and The Toy, eco-friendly workshops, and local culinary delights. A highlight of the festivities will be the nine-act fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, blending dazzling pyrotechnics with advanced technologies. The celebrations will conclude with a New Year’s Day merit-making ceremony at Wat Arun, embracing Thailand’s spiritual heritage.
Nationwide Celebrations

- Chiang Mai: The Amazing Chiang Mai Countdown 2025 at Royal Park Rajapruek will run from 21 December 2024 to 1 January 2025, featuring illumination displays, cultural showcases, and concerts by global icons, including BamBam of GOT7.
- ICONSIAM Bangkok: From 29 to 31 December 2024, ICONSIAM will host Thailand’s longest eco-friendly fireworks display, spanning 1,400 metres and themed ‘Celebrating the Everlasting Legacy of Siam’.
- CentralWorld Bangkok: Dubbed the ‘Times Square of Asia’, CentralWorld will host performances by PP Krit, Billkin, and Ice Paris, with a spectacular fireworks display to cap off the celebrations.
TAT also supports countdowns in Hua Hin, Chaiyaphum, Udon Thani, Hat Yai, and other regions, ensuring the festive spirit resonates across the country.
A Safe and Inclusive Celebration
Safety is a top priority, with Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Pheuk-um, Commissioner of the Tourist Police, affirming the implementation of robust protocols to ensure a secure environment. The initiative aligns with Thailand’s visa-free travel programme, which is expected to attract significant international visitors.
Driving Tourism and Economic Growth
TAT anticipates the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2025 celebrations will generate 62 billion Baht in tourism revenue and draw 1.56 million international visitors during the holiday season.
