Following the virtual meeting held between Malaysian and Australian Prime Ministers, Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim and Anthony Albanese, on 24 December, the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC) stated that it recognises the significance of the recent virtual meeting.
MABC highlighted that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), which defines the bilateral engagement, is important to the trade and investment ecosystem that exists between Australia and Malaysia.
In the same statement issued today, MABC Chairman, Dato Sr Peter Tan said that the CSP complements several multilateral agreements which also play an important role in the existing business dynamic.

“Australia has a great desire to be a part of the ASEAN story,” continued Dato Sr Peter, and from the perspective of MABC, “stands committed to being the all-important bridge between the two business communities in the respective countries.”
“Looking forward, the Malaysia Australia Business Council will continue to focus on areas of strategic business importance to the bilateral relationship. A relationship that has been built on the back of countless person-to-person interactions. At the forefront of that relationship is the educational linkages which boost two-way investments at the institutional level and the Australian government’s commitment to Asia through the New Colombo Plan,” concluded Dato Sr Peter.
