According to latest statement by Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group announced that it has seen exceptional client base growth in 2020 across a range of industries throughout Malaysia. This shows the adaptability of cloud technologies to meet the specific needs of different industries. It also is a testament as to how more organizations in the region are leveraging intelligent cloud services to redesign their operating models in the new normal against COVID-19 pandemic.
This achievement is due to the strategy that has been put in place by Alibaba Cloud, strengthening the ecosystem build-up with local partners and supporting the digital transformation of customers of all sizes. New customers range from various industries including technology, banks, FinTech, retail, internet, media and hospitality industry.

Genting – Virtual Queue (VQ) Solution for Resorts World Genting Theme Park
Alibaba Cloud and Genting Malaysia will collaborate to deploy a Virtual Queue (VQ) Solution at their new outdoor Resorts World Genting Theme Park. The newly developed system will integrate Alibaba Cloud’s advanced technology with individual ride’s queuing system to provide a seamless and engaging entertainment experience from start to finish.

Sabah Pay – Accelerating Financial Inclusion
Sabah Pay is the state’s latest initiative to embrace digital economy last September when Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC) was given the mandate to set up the state’s e-wallet platform. Alibaba Cloud’s IaaS service provides Sabahans a comprehensive platform to conduct and record payments through a variety of
citizen-centric services, as well as acting as a one-stop source for every visitor to know more about the state. The IaaS system will also offer elasticity and scalability, while maintaining cost efficiency.
Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)
The MoU between UTAR and Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Program
(AAEP) provides students and staff easy access to the high-quality learning
resources as UTAR students can pursue Alibaba Cloud certification and stand a
chance to intern with the company after successful completion of the courses. Both
parties will jointly promote cloud computing by conducting collaborative seminars,
guest lectures, workshops and training activities to lay a strong technical
foundation for the young generation.
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM)
To enhance the education and skills of the cloud computing staff and students
through the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Program (AAEP). XMUM’s staff and students can also join the Alibaba Cloud’s Student Education Program, where upon completion they will receive a certification from Alibaba Cloud. Alibaba Cloud also plays an advisory role at XMUM to ensure the content of the courses remains relevant and focused on the future needs of the industry, so students are well prepared for their careers.
