One example of the Philippines’ involvement in the international art scene is its participation in the Asia Art Show Sydney. This show brings together artists from across Asia to showcase their work and share their unique perspectives on art and culture. The show features many different styles and mediums, from painting and sculpture to installation and video art.
The Philippines has been represented at the Asia Art Show Sydney in the past, with Filipino artists showcasing their work alongside their peers from other Asian countries. This provides valuable exposure for Filipino artists and allows them to engage with other artists from different cultural backgrounds.
The Philippines’ involvement in events like the Asia Art Show Sydney also highlights the country’s commitment to promoting the arts and supporting its artists. It encourages creative expression and helps to cultivate a vibrant art scene that reflects the country’s unique cultural heritage.
Ana Lyn Seva, fondly known as “ANA”, a self-discovered painter, painted her first canvas in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown in Malaysia. A Filipino from Manila, residing in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
When speaking to News Hub Asia, Ana explained “For me, art is without a doubt one of the purest and best forms of human happiness. It trains the mind through sight, and the eyes through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life.”
Ana found her happy place in the abstracts of imagination where she gets lost in her own world when she is painting.
This humble beginning soon flowed into painting for friends, and friends of friends. Ana have join a several exhibition in Malaysia n sold more than 20 pieces artworks since the pandemic.
In 2022, three of her paintings from the local exhibition were purchased by “Aurelius Hospital” in Nilai, Negri Sembilan and exhibited in the Cancer Rehabilitation Center to represent courage and hope. In May 2023, her paintings took flight once again to be exhibited at the prestigious, “ASIA ART SHOW“ in Sydney, Australia.
Without the help of our sponsors such as Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines and Creative Venture we would be unavailable to fly the artworks to Sydney.
